What is NFC chips technology?
Near field communication is a new technology. Devices using NFC technology (such as mobile phones) can exchange data when they are close to each other. It is evolved from the integration of non-contact radio frequency identification (RFID) and interconnection technology. By integrating the functions of inductive card reader, inductive card and point-to-point communication on a single chip, mobile terminals are used to realize applications such as mobile payment, electronic ticketing, access control, mobile identity identification and anti-counterfeiting.
NFC chips working mode:
- Reader mode.
- Induction card mode.
- Point to point communication mode.
Difference and connection between NFC and RFID technology;
The Difference:
1) Working Frequency
The working frequency of NFC is 13.56MHz, while the working frequencies of RFID are including low frequency, high frequency (13.56MHz) and ultra-high frequency.
2) Working Distance
The working distance of NFC is theoretically 0~10 cm, so as to better ensure the security of business. But RFID has different frequencies, so its working distance ranges from several centimeters to tens of meters.
3) Working Mode
NFC supports both reader-writer mode and card mode. However, in RFID, the card reader and the contactless card are independent entities and cannot be switched.
4) Point-to-point Communication
P2P mode is supported by NFC, but not by RFID.
5) Standard Protocol
The underlying communication protocol of NFC is compatible with the underlying communication standard of high-frequency RFID, that is, ISO14443 and ISO15693. NFC technology also defines relatively complete upper layer protocols, such as LLCP, NDEF and RTD.
6) Application Field
RFID is more used in production, logistics, tracking and asset management; NFC chips works in the fields of access control, bus card and mobile payment.
The Connection:
- NFC technology comes from 13.56MHz high frequency RFID technology.
- NFC protocol is fully compatible with high frequency RFID protocol.
Security comparison of encryption methods:
1) DES: Data Encryption Standard, which is the first encryption algorithm published in the United States. The algorithm is public.
2) 2.3DES: Use 3 keys to encrypt plaintext 3 times with DES.
3) AES: Advanced Encryption Standard. Also known as Rijandael encryption method, it is used to replace the original DES.
4) RSA public key cryptosystem was put forward by three Chinese cryptographers, Rivest, Shamir and Adleman. The basic theory of RSA is the euler theorem of number theory.
