To control more and more serious problem of food waste, the south Korean government to implement a special action – rubbish “paid”.Residents need to food residue separated from the rest of the trash, and pour in a special trash can.To open the trash can, they need to be paid by weight.
Today, the south Korean government used three methods, to charge food waste. The second is prepaid garbage bags.These special garbage bags according to the volume pricing.For example: in Seoul, a 10 litres of garbage bags can cost as much as 190 won (1 yuan).
The third is bar code management system. Residents can directly to the food garbage into the trash can, and buy trash on the barcode sticker.
In South Korea, almost every village have installed one of the payment system. According to the official statistics, South Korea’s food waste account for 28% of the waste volume.
